Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for accurately processing and recording all accounts payable transactions related to our Oil & Gas Operations. This is a vital role within our organization, ensuring that all financial obligations are met in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and payments accurately and efficiently
- Review invoices for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to company policies
- Ensure proper coding and documentation of invoices
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions
- Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable
- Collaborate with internal departments to resolve any invoice or payment issues
- Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports
- Assist with other accounting tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role
- Knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Proficient in using Excel
- Familiarity with Enertia software is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to analyze data and identify discrepancies or errors
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
